Have questions about Senaps?

See our FAQs below.

Senaps has an extremely flexible framework to manage the analysis of your data.

The Analysis Service included in Senaps allows you to upload your own analytics code as a Senaps operator, you can even bring existing analysis software (such as simulations or models) and deploy them within the Senaps Analysis Service as an operator.

Once your code is deployed you can then create complex workflows by connecting your analysis operators together and to your data. Additionally, you can share your analysis and/or data with other users of the platform (allowing them to run your analysis on their code or vice-versa ) without exposing the intellectual property in your code.

In the background every Analysis operator runs in a dedicated isolated container in the Senaps analysis cluster. Analysis workflows can be triggered through schedules or on-demand via API requests.

Senaps provides a cost-effective and valuable service to various groups.

If you need to handle and analyse near real-time data feeds (e.g. sensor data, gridded data, image data) to deliver value to your customers but you don’t want to resource or develop the in-house capability to professionally manage such a service 24/7 with high reliability, security and uptime, then Senaps is for you.

This is especially relevant when your objective is to scale the services you offer to your clients, given the level of difficulty to do this work in-house.

Typical users are SMEs or Start-ups who want to rapidly deliver services to their customers, or scientists who want to translate their science into products and services that users can access.

Larger organisations with a strong innovation or research component can also benefit from Senaps by enabling a faster pathway to market for their intellectual property.

Senaps is optimised for:

  • Time-series scalar data (e.g. temperature sensor data)
  • Time-series vector data (e.g. spectrometer data)
  • Time-series image data (e.g. time-lapse or motion capture camera data)
  • Time-series gridded data (e.g. rainfall data across a country)

Nearly all sensors can be supported.

The process of integrating new sensor can be handled by you or, if you prefer, the Senaps team provides a managed service. The Senaps team have many years of experience integrating a wide range of sensors into Senaps, we have a library of tools which allows us to integrate new sensors efficiently for our customers.

As with integrating new sensors, the Senaps APIs are flexible enough to allow you to develop bulk integrations with 3rd party IoT platforms.

Alternatively, the Senaps team has many years experience integrating 3rd party data sources and we can provide a managed service to develop and operate integration on your behalf.

Yes, most likely.

Whilst some interaction can be done through the management dashboard the real power of Senaps is in the APIs and you will need developers (your own or a partner) to use those APIs to help develop your product or integrate with existing products.

Documentation and tutorials are available and training is available for developers and researchers with coding experience to accelerate the on-boarding process.

Please contact us for a detailed discussion about your requirements and we can provide technical details about the platform.
